hn John adams was born in Massachusetts bay colony on October 30 1735. He was the oldest child. He had two little brothers and no sisters. His brother Elihu died in 1775. He grew up in a house that his father had built. He lived on a farm that his grandfather bought when he came to Massachusetts. His grandfather was a religious Puritan that came to Massachusetts in 1638. When john adams was growing up he wanted to be a farmer just like his father and grandfather. Adams helped out with the farm as much as he can. He chopped wood, carry water from the well, milk the cows and worked on the farm. Johns parents wanted John to have a good education. John adams was very smart, he learned to read at a very young age. When he was in school he learned write and go arthritic and he enjoyed reading. John adams still wanted to be a farmer and he argued with his father about going to college but his father said he had to go. John Adams was accepted into Harvard university. John Adams science teacher convinced him to become a teacher for a couple of years. Adams taught Latin to children in Worcester. John adams got board of teaching kids Latin so he decided to become a lawyer. He met Abigail Smith when he was 13 years old. On October 25 1764 he married Abigail Smith. They had five children, two daughters and three sons, one of witch will become the 6th president. They settled down on johns farm for a while. John adams was against the kings taxes but he was against the fighting too. John Adams had a great idea for a new type of government. He said that there should be three branches of government, the legislative, the judicial, and the executive. He said that they would each have there own power, so no side can become to powerful and take over. He was so sirius that he wrote an essay and sent it to the Boston gazette. His cousin Samuel Adams convinced him to support the sons of liberty. John Adams supported the sons of liberty because his cousin Samuel Adams was one of them, but the British had asked him to defend the soldiers. Adams believed that everyone should have a lawyer in case, so he accepted. John Adams went to Philadelphia with three other delegates to discus weather they should break away from England or not. They delegates decided to break free from England. When the king heard that they where going to try to get a way a long eight year war broke out. When the American patriots won the war the delegates decided to make a deceleration of independence witch they would all sign. He signed the deceleration of independence on July 4 of 1776. When the patriots broke free from England and decided on the government system john adams became the first vice president of the united colonies. He served for two terms and then became the second president of the United States. When adams was president he got a treaty with France, and they became alliances. He was president from 1797 to 1801. Adams died July 4 1826. He was 82 years old when he died. His best friend Thomas Jefferson died on the same day.
